Dr Ratna Jain

Mayor, Nagar Nigam, Kota

Ratna Jain (born 4 March 1962), is the current Mayor of Kota, Rajasthan. She is a member of the National executive of Indian National Congress. She became the Mayor of the city, in her first ever election, after defeating her opponent by over 50000 votes on 23 November 2009.

Until 2009, she practiced as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist at her private Nursing Home, Ratna Nursing Home, situated in Nayapura, Kota.

 Childhood and education

Ratna Jain was born in a Jain family in Udaipur, Rajasthan, to Jeewan Singh Dalal and Prem Kanta Dalal. She is the third child of her parents. She did her schooling from St. Mary’s Convent School in Udaipur. After that, she pursued Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and did her Masters in Obstetrics and gynaecology, both from Rabindranath Tagore Medical College, Udaipur.

 Personal life

Ratna Jain is married to Dr. Ashok Jain, a Physician in Kota. She has 2 children, Apoorv Jain and Ayush Jain.
